- 1). Obtain a quitclaim deed form. These forms can be purchased from legal document websites such as LegalZoom.com or from office supply or bookstores. Alternatively, hire an attorney to prepare a quitclaim deed for you.
- 2). Obtain the legal description of the property the double wide sits on if it is a permanently affixed home. You will need this description for the quitclaim deed. To get the legal description of land, call the country clerk's or title recorder's office in your area for the description. Pay any administrative or processing fees for this request.
- 3). Complete and sign the quitclaim deed in front of a notary so it can be notarized. Once the quitclaim deed is signed and notarized, the double wide will belong to the new owners. If the double wide is permanently affixed to land, the quitclaim deed will need to be filed at the title recorder's office or county clerk's office closest to where the double wide is located.
