Defend Yourself - Give Yourself an Edge by Learning to Use These 4 Common Items For Self Defense
When you think about self defense, what are some of the weapons that come to mind? For many, the list will include the common self defense weapons, and may even include common items like keys.
In this article, I share 4 very common, and readily available items that you can easily use to defend yourself.
And, doing so, gives you a serious advantage over the attacker who hasn't thought of these things either! The trick in developing a high level of ability and expertise within the realm of personal self protection, is to be able to think outside the box.
Another high-level skill is be able to...
Use anything in your environment to defend yourself! Here are 4 common, everyday items that can be found just about anywhere.
And, being aware of, and knowing how and when to use them, means that you'll never find yourself "unarmed" in a self defense situation! 1) Pens - In an era where "homeland security," in an attempt to make us more safe from the bad guys, has also limited our ability to defend ourselves; being able to use almost invisible items that are capable of creating serious damage is a major plus.
Pens, especially metal-shank, quality pens, can be used in exactly the same way as a kubotan, self defense keychain.
2) Coins - While coins may appear to be too small, or too light, to inflict significant damage to an attacker, they are perfect as distraction weapons.
When used properly, coins thrown at the assailant's eyes, or even dropped on the ground to draw his attention, can give you the time you need to counter attack or escape.
3) Mini-flashlight - These are those tiny little lights that you can hook to your keychain.
Have you seen them? They come in a variety of colors and are brighter than you know what! In the darkness, when your attacker's eyes have adjusted and the pupils are wide open - the flash from one of these little gems is not only blinding - but painful! 4) Shoes - Your shoes can be used as hand-coverings against an attacker coming at you with a knife.
They can also be used as clubbing or slapping weapons - regardless of whether we're talking about women's high heels, men's work boots, sneakers, or even sandals! Feel free to add to this list.
In fact, the more things that you can add, the greater your chances of recognizing a tool that you can use to defend yourself in a real world attack against an attacker intent on making you his next victim!
