- 1). Log in to your Google Chrome netbook with your Google username and password. If you do not have a Google account, create one by registering at Google's website.
- 2). Open a blank window with the Google Chrome Web browser.
- 3). Start the Google Talk application in the blank Google Chrome browser window. In the applications section of the blank window, double-click the icon that displays the word "Talk" contained by a speech bubble. This brings up a panel of Google contacts from your Gmail, AIM or any other contact lists that you've synced with your Google account.
- 4). In the contacts panel, select a contact's name to bring up online communication options. Check the status icon next to the contact before clicking it to make sure that the contact is online.
- 5). Select the video chat icon in the communication option window to call the contact with your Google Chromebook. The blue video chat icon is shaped like a rudimentary video camera, with a square on the left connected to a triangle opening towards the right. This will send a video call to your selected Google contact.
