Make a photo album from a special vacation or of Dad enjoying his favorite hobby or sport. If he likes to read, make a photo bookmark. Attach a small photo by hand-sewing the corners to a 2-inch-wide ribbon. The ribbon should be 3 inches longer than the book. Another option is to upload one of your dad's favorite photos to a photo website. There you can have a family photo or scenic picture printed on coasters, a coffee mug, clock, throw or even a pillowcase.

Car Wash Kit

Any dad will appreciate a useful car wash kit. Use a galvanized metal or plastic bucket as the container to hold sponges, chamois cloths, tire cleaner, car wax, window cleaner and a squeegee. Add a coupon entitling your dad to one free car wash with you providing the muscle.

Travel Kit

If your dad travels, put together a mini travel kit. Fill a plastic, expandable file folder with a deck of cards, gum, sticky notes, pens, lip balm, family photos and any other items your dad might like.

TV Organizer

Paint or stain a wooden box so it looks attractive. Fill it with a pair of comfy slippers, a TV guide, favorite snacks, a movie rental subscription and, of course, the remote.

Money Jar

Buy a coin jar that counts the money as you put coins in. Your dad won't ever have to count change again. Create a special label for the jar which says something like, 'I wouldn't change a thing about you, Dad.'

Grill Gift

If your dad loves to barbecue, make jars of homemade barbecue sauce and marinades. Place them in a basket, along with some new grilling tools. Buy a plain canvas barbecue apron and decorate it with fabric paints with a funny saying or your dad's name.

Belt Rack

Buy your dad a leather belt and make a rack to hold it. Take a sturdy wooden hanger and make marks 2 inches apart along the bottom rod. Pre-drill the holes and attach cup hooks.

Shoe Shine Kit

Create a shoe shine kit by starting with a plain metal lunch box. Decorate the outside of the box with funny stickers. Fill the box with different colors of shoe polish, brushes, cloths and shoelaces.
