Treat Sensitive Skin with Natural Jojoba Oil

Increasing numbers of people are suffering from sensitive skin. This phenomenon has been linked to many environmental and chemical irritants; enhanced levels of environmental pollution, harsh chemicals in skin products and extreme practises such as micro-dermabrasion have all been linked to the growing number of sensitive skin sufferers. Skin products containing artificial fragrances, colours and other toxins are the most damaging products to use on sensitive skin and repeated use of products containing these ingredients can lead to allergies which further sensitise already irritated skin.  

However, there are many products available that can calm and soothe sensitive skin, healing existing damage while balancing the lack of natural oils in the skin. Even with sensitive skin, it is important to cleanse daily to remove toxins and impurities. Always use lukewarm water, rather than hot and use a cleanser rich in an essential oil such as Jojoba. Jojoba oil contains properties which are most similar to the skin's natural oils. As long as only cold-pressed Jojoba products are used, sensitive skin can be gently cleansed without causing excess irritation.

Successful acne treatment involves cautious avoidance of the triggers that can aggravate acne-prone skin, as well as careful protection of the skin's natural balance. Each person's skin is as unique as their fingerprint, which means each individual must find the most effective skincare regime for them. However, there are a few general guidelines acne sufferers should follow in order to minimise the skin's tendency to create excess oils and begin the process of healing and rebalancing the skin.

Certain lifestyle choices can make a big difference to the success of acne treatment. A diet rich in essential vitamins and minerals and low in, or completely without, caffeine, alcohol, refined carbohydrates and sugars will give the body the best chance of balancing the level of oils in the skin. Drinking lots of water will hydrate the body, while safe exposure to sunshine will increase the body's natural production of vitamin D, an essential factor in creating healthy skin.

Acne sufferers should avoid certain skincare products , cosmetics and hair care products which list chemicals, alcohol and things that are hard to read, let alone pronounce on their ingredients labels. The kinds of ingredients acne sufferers should be looking for are those which contain natural, cold pressed oils, which provide important nourishment and can therefore reverse the damaging effects of acne on the skin. Other ingredients like MSM, Shea Butter and Cacao Butter, mixed with cold pressed oils and essential oils, form ideal acne treatments which provide much needed nutrients that can heal acne, sometimes overnight.
