Outsource Your Way to Success
The last few years have seen a dramatic shift toward home business run by individual proprietors.
There are all types of businesses and niches that people find ways to make money in, however what holds them back is the thinking that they can do everything that is required to operate a business by themselves.
This one man/woman approach is macho, but there is so much to do, and only a finite amount of time to work with each day, that to be successful you need to outsource as much as possible, if you do not want to hire employees.
One of the important things you have to determine, as a sole proprietor, is your strengths, weaknesses, what you like to do, and how you want to spend each day.
You may be a product creator, you may be a writer, you may be a tech person, or a sales genius.
But it is unlikely that you will be able to do all these things simultaneously, including answering the phone, and placing advertising, to be effective.
You need to create a list of all the business activities required for your business to be successful and grow.
You need to break down that list into realistic chunks of activity, and determine what you like to do most and what you are good at.
Once you give yourself your task (which should be growing the business), you seek out outside resources, and begin to make deals to get others to do the other work for you.
If you search any of the search engines, you can find more than one vendor for any service you can think of.
Some of the low cost vendors may be overseas.
This is common place in today's global economy.
Your goal should be to use as many vendors as possible to help you create a successful business, with all the tasks in place, from answering the phone to making the big sale.
You want to create a business where you can use your strengths to manage your business and have others help you where you are not so strong, or just out of time.
It is sometimes difficult to change your mindset from the attitude that I can do everything to I cannot and should not for the sake and the growth of my business.
If you do not outsource and use others to help you grow, than your business can only go as far as you can take it.
And that's usually not far enough to make it successful, but it sure is a great way to make yourself crazy, full of anxiety, and overworked and underpaid.
