Troubleshooting a Dacor ID30 Dishwasher

    • 1). Push the Dacor dishwasher door closed until a click is heard if the dishwasher won't operate. Plug the power cord in firmly if the power cord is reachable, or replace or reset the household circuit breaker or fuse.

    • 2). Fill the rinse aid dispenser with rinse aid if dishes aren’t dry at the end of the cycle. Do not open the dishwasher door before the dry cycle is finished, and do not overload items in the racks. Set items in the dishwasher individually face down in the racks. Air-dry or delicate cycles are more likely to leave dishes wet, and some plastic items will remain wet even after drying.

    • 3). Touch “Cancel” two times if the “Alarm” light is illuminated. Disconnect the dishwasher for five seconds if the light remains illuminated, and then restore power. Contact Dacor for service if the light remains on.

    • 4). Use the recommended detergent amount if dishes or glasses seem spotted or filmy in appearance, and add more rinse aid detergent. Take out metal items if the dishes still seem affected, and put 2 cups of vinegar in a bowl on the bottom rack. Run a normal wash cycle without detergent and repeat as needed with ¼ cup of citric acid crystals if the vinegar solution is not effective.

    • 5). Rinse flatware before washing if stainless steel or silver items become discolored, especially if items sit in the dishwasher for several hours or days before washing. Do not set stainless steel and silver items next to each other in the silverware compartment.

    • 6). Combine ½ cup of bleach and 3 cups of warm water, and use a cleaning sponge to gently scrub yellow or brown marks away in the dishwasher, which are usually caused by coffee or tea spills. Heavy iron content in the water may also cause discoloration on dishes or in the dishwasher, which can be resolved by adding 1 tablespoon of citric acid crystals to the prewash detergent dispenser, as well as automatic dishwasher detergent in the detergent dispenser, and washing with a heavy cycle.

    • 7). Clean the kitchen sink by running the garbage disposal. Clean out the air gap, which is a dome-shaped item or a vent on the top of the kitchen sink, if the dishwasher does not drain well. Open the lid to the air gap and clean out the hoses inside with water, then close the lid.

    • 8). Close the dishwasher door and turn on the water valve connected to the dishwasher if water does not fill the tub. Straighten out the water hose and press the desired wash cycle, followed by “Start” for the cycle to begin.

    • 9). Open the dishwasher and resecure items in the racks if there is an unusual noise during operation. Look for items that may have dropped into the bottom of the tub and are making noise in the filter.

Add fresh detergent, and wait to add the detergent until immediately prior to starting the cycle if detergent is left in the dispenser. Turn each spray arm before running the dishwasher to make sure nothing blocks the spray arm movement, and do not place items in front of the racks that might block the dispenser from opening.

    • 11

Clear holes on the spray arms with a small pointed object if items are not clean after the cycle, and use the full recommended amount of detergent. Rinse heavily soiled dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.

Lift the filter and strainer out of the bottom of the dishwasher by turning the filter, strainer and medium particle filters counterclockwise and lifting them up. Use warm soapy water and a soft sponge to clean them, then rinse well. Replace each component in the dishwasher, using a clockwise motion.
