5 Easy Steps to an Effective Company Facebook Fan Page

103 1
There is really no doubt today that Facebook has become one of the biggest online phenomenons of recent times.
And a few savvy online entrepreneurs now depend on a well organized company Facebook fan page to skyrocket their online revenue.
Back in 2006, I attended a major information marketing conference where two leading experts in online marketing took opposite sides in arguing about the effectiveness of using social media as part of an online marketing mix.
The last time I checked, the online marketing guru who most vehemently opposed the idea back in 2006 today generates a substantial amount of his online revenue from social media marketing.
And by the way, a good part of this revenue comes from seminars and webinars he runs teaching others how to use Facebook and other social media to build a profitable online business.
But is not only the small online entrepreneur who is using this new marketing power to an advantage.
As I write, big companies like Amazon and Nike are adding a few extra millions of dollars to their bottom line thanks to the addition of social media marketing to their marketing channel.
In a previous post, I pointed out a few ways a start up or existing online entrepreneur can benefit from using this aspect of social media marketing to build his/her online business.
Hopefully, you've already incorporated this new marketing mix into your online business marketing strategy.
If not, here is a 5-step process to building an effective company Facebook fan page: 1- Set clear Facebook Fan Page Goal(s) This should be quite obvious right? Not really, perhaps? OK then, answer the following questions for me if you will: Why are you building a Facebook fan page? What do you hope to achieve with it? For your fan page to be effective, it must have a clearly defined goal.
2- Know your audience Who are you building the fan page for? Who do you expect to visit your fan page? Who stands to benefit from it besides you? You must identify a particular audience and let your fan page speak directly to this audience.
You can't have an online home business teaching single parents how to raise great kids and build a fan page aimed at guitar enthusiasts to market it effectively.
If you don't know and understand your potential customers well enough how do you expect your company fan page to establish that special connection with them? 3- Find a niche market Very much linked to "2" above.
Whether you like it or not, the fact of the matter remains that we operate in a highly competitive market.
And to succeed, you must carve a niche for yourself and satisfy it well.
Find a niche that is active and big enough and has the financial strength to support the level of income you expect to generate from your online home business.
Here's a great program that has helped many of today's successful entrepreneurs - including yours truly, find their perfect niche.
I have no doubt that this program will help you find a profitable niche.
Plus the business building model the program teaches will help you build your dream home business in no time.
4- Conduct a market research Your market research should help you, among others, identify the keywords or key phrases your potential customers use when looking for information regarding the specific product or service you're providing.
Use these keywords or key phrases in your fan page title and in your profile.
Do this well and you'll get more than a fair share of the traffic you need to generate to your fan page and your website.
5- Link your fan page with your website, and other social media accounts Finally, make sure you link your company fan page with your business website and with other social media accounts you have e.
g.
LinkedIn, Twitter, MySpace, etc.
And talk about your fan page on all these other sites, provide active links in between them.
This way, someone from your LinkedIn account can easily be led to your company Facebook fan page then to your business website and vice-versa.
I'll be writing more about ways you can use Facebook and other social media sites to jump-start your online home business or revamp a struggling one in forthcoming posts.
I'll tell you the secrets I've shared with other promising online entrepreneurs just like you and the secrets I've learned.
And I'll give you a simple plan for growing your home based online business from the start-up stage to a real global success in no time.
Meanwhile, spend a little time thinking about your business and its goals objectively.
Are you currently using any social media site as part of your business building and marketing mix? Which one are you using? Have you tried Facebook's fan pages yet? What results or changes are you experiencing thus far?
