How to Care for Tulips That Are in a Pot Already Blooming-Can I Keep Them in the House All Year?
- 1). Place the pot of tulips in a location with bright light. Avoid direct sunlight.
- 2). Keep tulips away from heaters and heating vents. Warm, circulating air dries the leaves, causing them to wilt, and shortens the life of the flowers.
- 3). Provide temperatures of 45 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Tulips kept at higher temperatures have shorter stems and don’t last as long as those that are kept cool. To prolong their life, move the plants to the coolest room in the house at night.
- 4). Keep the soil lightly moist to the touch while the tulips are actively growing. Let the soil dry to a depth of 1 inch between waterings once they reach their full growth potential.
- 5). Discard the plant when the blossoms fade.
