    Eastern European Education, Culture and Multilingualism and Youth

    • The Eastern European Education, Culture and Multilingualism and Youth Agency has 3 million euros ($4,180,260) in 2010 to promote an "Agenda for Culture." The Agenda for Culture program is a catalyst to cultural dialogue and diversity in international relations. Consulting groups are needed in Eastern Europe to enhance the entire culture through movies, audiovisuals, contemporary literature, art and music and to support historic conservation programs. The "Agenda for Culture" program seeks consultants in an informative and advisory capacity for public cultural institutions of the Eastern European Partnership. Consultants must monitor, coach, coordinate, regulate and guide initiatives in Eastern Europe to form a synergistic Eastern Partnership culture. Contract is 48 months in duration beginning in November 2010.

    Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities

    • Brussels, Belgium initiated a Study on Precarious Work and Social Rights to examine the cultures and economies of the states of the European Commission. The study must examine employment relations in the labor market to identify rights for all employees regardless of position, hours spent working, temporary work and self employment. Application must demonstrate experience in published empirical analysis of labor and social law. The applicant team must include a practicing lawyer with more than 15 years of experience and more than 7 years of experience in labor relations law. Applicants must be distinguished academically with experience in empirical social and labor law. Applicants must be multilingual to communicate accurately with the commission and participants. Average contracts are 350,000 euros ($487,697) for six to ten months.

    Study of Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union (19.300)

    • The U.S. Department of State allocates $4,200,000 annually for the Study of Eastern Europe and the Independent States of the Former Soviet Union (19.300). The Study of Eastern Europe is to build and strengthen relationships among the U.S., Russia and other Eastern European countries. Grant funds are available for graduate studies in eastern European countries especially for understanding of their culture, geography and politics. Research methodology, results, data collection and findings must be through private consultants' first hand experience in these countries. Nonprofits, universities and individual graduate students may apply to conduct research and training about the independent Russian states and Southeast Europe. Universities may award subcontracts to individual graduate students. Applicants must demonstrate advanced understanding of the language and advanced research experience in studies of East Europe. Application is a 20 page research proposal. Recipients must provide quarterly program narratives and transaction reports (SF-269) with budgets (SF-270). Published results of the Study of Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union must be available to the public.
