How to Make Halloween Origami
- 1). Lay a piece of orange origami paper down in front of you so that you see diamond, as opposed to a square, shape. Fold it in half from corner to corner. Fold the right corner of the paper over to meet the left corner to fold it in half a second time.
- 2). Pry open the fold you just made gently and flatten the paper down. You should see an upside-down triangle shape at the top left of the paper and a diamond shape to the right.
- 3). Turn over the paper. Repeat Step 2 on this side, opening the fold and flattening the paper down to make a diamond shape.
- 4). Create diagonal hood folds on the bottom left and right sides of the paper. Hood folds are where the paper is first folded to make a crease and unfolded. It then is opened from the left and right sides, so that the inside of the paper is exposed, and folded backward on itself.
- 5). Make diagonal hood folds on the top left and right sides of the paper. Refer to Step 4. Fold the top of the paper and the bottom of the paper backward to form the straight top and bottom of the jack o' lantern.
- 6). Fold the left and right sides of the paper backwards to form the straight sides of the jack o' lantern. Use black marker to add a spooky face.
- 1). Lay a piece of white origami paper down in front of you so that the four corners make a diamond shape. Fold the left corner to meet the right corner. Crease well and unfold.
- 2). Fold the upper right and left sections of the paper in to meet the center. The result is an upside-down kite shape.
- 3). Fold the left and right sides of the bottom of the paper in to meet the center.
- 4). Open the pockets of the left and right folds you made in Step 3. Gently pry open each fold and flatten it down.
- 5). Fold the right and left sides of the bottom of the paper backward diagonally. The result is a skinny, top-heavy diamond shape.
- 6). Fold the tips of the visible folds, which are facing up, down. These will form the ghost's "hands." Fold the top triangle of the paper backward to form the ghost's head.
- 7). Fold the bottom section of the paper backward approximately 1 inch underneath the ghost's hands. Fold the tip of this section backward again to finish the ghost's body and use black marker to add a creepy face.
