Do Federal Agencies Have Shut Down Plans In Case of Public Union Strikes - They Need One
Do you remember when Ronald Reagan was president? The Federal Aviation Administration employees walked out on their jobs.
He told them not to walk out or they'd all be fired, and they called his bluff.
He therefore fired them all the next day.
People were stunned, but they shouldn't be because Ronald Reagan was a man of his word, and he told them in advance what would happen.
Nevertheless, the Democrats and the union wanted to test him, to make it look like a fool, and show him that he wasn't in control, rather the government public unions were.
Well, now we have a Democrat president, and he will be challenged by the public unions who don't want to lose their power.
The unions think that now that President Obama has been reelected, it's time for them to ask for more money, and make sure that their budget isn't cut, that their payroll isn't cut, that their benefits are not cut, and that their pensions remain strong and secure.
At some point there will be a showdown, and it will probably come during the budget cuts concerning this fiscal Cliff.
So I ask, because I am a former business person and well aware of the need for continuity during disruption in any business or organization; do all federal government agencies have a shutdown plan in case of a public union strike of government employees? They should.
There should be a plan to go to bare-bones to still deliver the people what they need, and the ability to fire all those public union employees who disobeyed direct orders not to strike.
Some people may say I'm just stirring the pot, but I'm not because I see a very big trend here, and I realize that public employee unions are now running our government from the inside.
If they don't get their way, there will be work slowdowns, more people checking out on disability, and further disruption of our government.
This will only cost the taxpayer more money, and after this last election it's obvious who is in control.
It isn't the president or the executive leadership.
President Obama was reelected, thus, again he is still the president and he must do what's best for the country and taxpayer, he no longer works for the unions, although he may assume that he's still on their side; but he shouldn't think for a second they are on his side.
Lastly, I would say it would be okay to shut down the entire federal government except for the military, we don't need it anymore, they aren't protecting us, they can't help us in natural disasters, they are not guarding our borders very well, and just about everything they do just creates bureaucracy and slows down our economy.
Most everything the government does at the federal level is a duplicate of state and local level governments, thus, most of it is clearly not needed.
We should make the federal government a website, and preempt all these public unions before they strike, by firing everyone.
Yes, that's my opinion, but things have gotten out of hand, it's time to bring things back into view and focus.
There's going to be a showdown, it is the American people who must prevail, that's regular people, regular taxpayers, and they don't deserve to get the shaft because public union employees are running the asylum.
Please consider all this and think on it.
