- 1). Go swimming. The waters of Lucky Peak Reservoir beckon visitors to come in for a swim. Head to Sandy Point, located below the dam, where you'll find a beach and a swimming area that's perfect for everyone from little kids to adults. - 2). Go boating. The Spring Shores Marina in Lucky Peak State Park is the place to go at Lucky Peak Reservoir if you're going boating. There are two boat launch ramps and plenty of parking spaces for your vehicle and boat trailer. There's also a convenience store for stocking up on snacks for your boat excursion and a place to purchase fuel for the boat. For those who don't have their own boat, rental boats are available in the area as well as water recreation equipment such as jet skis.

What better way to spend a lazy afternoon than drifting in a boat under sunny skies with a light breeze tickling your cheeks, breathing in the fresh air and chatting with a friend while you wait for the fish to bite? Avid fishers will want to try their luck at Lucky Peak Reservoir, which is stocked with rainbow trout and cutthroat trout. Although bull trout can also be found in these waters, it is considered a threatened animal and must be immediately released when caught.
- 4). Have a picnic. If you're planning to picnic at Lucky Peak Reservoir, you'll want to check out Discovery Park. There are picnic tables, charcoal grills and covered picnic pavilions where you can escape from rain or seek relief from strong sun. Discovery is also popular with fishermen and canoeists.
