Who Will Be the NBA"s Best Player in 5 Years?

103 7
If someone were to ask you who the best player in the NBA is today, there's a good chance that you'd answer LeBron James or Kobe Bryant.
Just about everyone who follows the sport would say the same, as these are the two elite players in today's game.
Five years ago, the answers may have been different.
While Kobe would have garnered consideration, there were others in the mix like Allen Iverson, Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, and more.
LeBron wasn't in the picture at all, as he was just entering the league.
As the tides turn, it should be interesting to see who the best player in the league will be in five years' time.
Will it still be Kobe Bryant? While he's playing some of the best basketball of his career right now, the chances of it being him are unlikely due to the fact that he's 31 and will be 36 years old by then.
Could it be LeBron James? It absolutely could be, as he'll just be 30 years old then, an age at which many professional players peak.
How about Carmelo Anthony? He'll be the same age, though since LeBron has always been considered the better player, it seems that Anthony doesn't have too realistic a shot.
Maybe it's big man Dwight Howard? He seems to get better with each year, and he led his team to the NBA finals last season.
This is certainly a possibility as he'll only be 29.
Then, there's star point guard Chris Paul, who will also only be 29 years old at that point in time.
Could a point guard be dominant enough to be considered the greatest though? This leaves us with one more possibility, and one that I believe it may very well be.
Kevin Durant is in his third full season, and he continues to wow us with his achievements.
My money's on Durant.
