My GoldStar Microwave Makes Noise and Won't Heat
- 1). Open the microwave door. Lift the the turntable to check the roller wheels underneath. If the wheels have jumped the track, place them back in the groove set into the bottom of the microwave.
- 2). Replace the turntable so the cog in the bottom center fits into the motor drive at the bottom of the microwave. Misalignment can cause a knocking sound.
- 3). Set a measuring cup with 1 cup room-temperature water in the microwave and close the door, making sure it is latched properly.
- 4). Set the microwave for one minute of cooking time. Press "Power Level" and enter "10" to set the GoldStar at 100 percent power. Start the microwave.
- 5). Open the microwave door when it turns off. Check the water in the cup to determine if it is hotter than room temperature. If the microwave does not heat, and you confirm that the power level and cooking functions were used rather than the timer function, then the microwave likely needs repairs.
