Periodically, it's useful to take a look at the costs of thyroid medications. For thyroid hormone replacement drugs (medication that is given for hypothyroidism), you'll see a comparison of the costs for a typical one month supply of 30 pills, for a variety of medications, including generic levothyroxine and brand names like Synthroid, and desiccated thyroid drug Armour Thyroid -- all at equivalent dosages.

I've also included Cytomel, the brand name liothyronine drug, and antithyroid drugs that are used to treat hyperthyroidism.
