Cake Accents

• Take a cue from wedding cakes and lay two or three Gerbera daisies as accents on top of the iced cake. Remove the flowers before cutting the cake. Another way to accent the cake on the birthday table is to arrange Gerbera daisy blooms around the base of the cake to hide the plate.
  
  

Floating in a Bowl

• Create a simple centerpiece from a Gerbera daisy. Remove the stem and float the flower in a clear, shallow bowl of water on the table. If you want to use several Gerbera flowers, give each place setting at the birthday table a small bowl with the flower floating in it for a finger bowl.
  
  

Daisy Cake

• Make a fake cake out of Gerbera daisies and a block of florist's foam. Insert the trimmed stems into the florist's foam to completely cover the top and sides of the block. Add birthday candles on the top to resemble a birthday cake and use the flower cake as a centerpiece or replacement for a real birthday cake. If you're using the fake cake along with a real cake, the birthday honoree can blow out the candles on top of both.
  
  

Place Setting Arrangements

• Give the place settings at the birthday table a festive accent with creative placement of Gerbera flowers. Place a single Gerbera daisy in each guest's empty drinking glass or insert a flower next to the fork in the place setting. To put a large number of flowers to work, line up the Gerbera daisies to create a line of blooms from each guest's plate to the birthday cake in the middle of the table, drawing attention to it.
