Facebook - Posting Tips For Page Admins
If you are an administrator of a page you might have already wondered how you can not only post as the page itself, but with your personal page logo.
Here is how you can do that.
The different page formats As you might know, Facebook has different kinds of pages: First you will have created a 'personal profile', which is the page you login as.
This usually has your name and is comparable to your personal ID.
Some people only have this kind of page and might not be aware of or in need of any further Facebook presence.
If however you have a business that you would like to be represented on Facebook you will have to create a 'business page'.
These pages are for 'organizations, businesses, celebrities, and bands to broadcast information in an official, public manner to people who choose to connect with them' (Facebook help section).
A page will always need an administrator, who already has a personal profile, as you cannot create a login for a business page.
The third kind of page, which is widely used, is a 'group'.
Groups are a community of like-minded people and can be created by anyone, whereas a business page needs to be created by a representative.
Check the Facebook help section for further clarification on differences.
How to post on a page I have created? Once you've created a business page and published it, you will be able to share content in the same way as you share it on your personal profile, simply by adding it into the 'share' box.
Page admins can share posts under the Page's name and they will appear in the News Feed of people who like the Page.
As you will notice, your share on the page you administer, will normally appear as coming from the business and not from you personally.
How to post on a page as myself? At times you might however like to post as yourself: write a comment, like something you shared etc.
This is only possible when you change your settings.
To do this go to your page, click on 'edit page', which appears on the right side and choose the option on the top called 'your settings'.
The first ticked box says: Posting Preferences: Always comment and post on your page as [page name], even when using Facebook as [your personal name].
As long as this box is ticked, it will always default to posting as the page.
Un-tick the box and you now have the choice to post from your personal page or 'switch' to using Facebook as your page, which means you can even post on other pages, appearing as your page.
How to use Facebook as the page I have created? To do this switch, click on 'account' on the top right of your Facebook screen, click 'use Facebook as page' and you will see a list of all the pages you administer.
By clicking 'switch' next to a page, you can now use Facebook as your page.
