How to Clean Resin From My Pyrex Bowl
- 1). Rinse the resin-coated glass in the hottest water you can stand for two minutes. The water gently warms the resin to make the solvent penetrate farther.
- 2). Add ¼ cup of coarse salt to the Pyrex bowl. Pour isopropyl alcohol over the salt until it is all submerged. Leave the mixture for an hour or more to soak into the resin.
- 3). Seal the opening on the glass bowl with plastic wrap. Swirl and shake the sealed Pyrex bowl vigorously to move the salt and alcohol mixture over the resin repeatedly. Continue until it appears the solvent cleaner is no longer effective.
- 4). Peel back the plastic wrap. Dump the contents of the bowl down the drain. Rinse the remaining resin under the hottest water you can tolerate for another two minutes.
- 5). Add another ¼ cup of coarse salt and more isopropyl alcohol to the Pyrex bowl. Seal the bowl with plastic wrap. Swirl and shake the mixture inside the bowl to clear all the remaining resin.
- 6). Dump the salt and alcohol mixture once all the resin is removed. Rinse the bowl with hot water to clean away any remaining salt or alcohol.
