Best Way to Remove Mold From Clothing

103 2
Mold is a substance that will grow in dark and wet areas.
This can commonly be found in areas like the bathroom or basement where there is a great deal of water and moisture.
What some individuals do not know is that mold is able to grow on your clothes just as much as the basement.
When your clothing has become spotted with mold the safest thing you can do to ward off problems is to wash it immediately.
Then you must dry it immediately before you place it back into your dresser.
Unfortunately not all of us have the time that is needed to do this and a mold stain will begin to flourish.
The next best thing you can do is to pour 3/4 cup of white vinegar in the washing machine when you are washing the stained clothes.
Vinegar will help to to kill off the scent that is caused and to kill off the substance itself.
Before you put it into the machine you must put on rubber gloves and take away anything that you are able to see.
It is best to do this outdoors.
The minute you touch it tiny spores will break off and float in the air.
When you have taken away what you can, allow the clothes to soak in the sun to kill off any of the spores that were left behind.
The stains that you have the ability to see have to be soaked in cold water and washed with detergent in warm water.
They then have to dry in the sun.
Another method you can try is to merge 2 tablespoons of bleach with 1 quart of warm water.
Pour the solution onto the stains and let it set for ten minutes before throwing it in the washing machine.
Once you have cleaned all of the clothing you have to go back and apply a mold killing spray into the closet, hamper, or wherever the place was that the clothes first became moldy.
This will help to prevent breakouts in the near future.
