The Cost of Living Island Highlights

Ben gives Jack a white shirt and asks him to take a walk with him. Jack tells Ben he will die very soon because of the tumor on his spine.
Jack goes with Ben to Colleen's funeral. Later, Juliet comes into his room with a cheeseburger, but Ben interrupts and asks to speak to Jack alone. He tells Jack how they had planned to wear him down and make him want to help Ben. Ben tells Jack that he believes in God because two days after he found out he had a fatal spinal tumor, a spinal surgeon fell out of the sky.

Later, Juliet brings Jack a movie to watch while she tells him that he should help Ben. On the movie is a video of her with big cards that say that Ben is a liar and she wants Jack to let Ben die.

After a fire at his shelter, Eko disappears. Locke asks if Eko said anything after they pulled him out, and Charlie says he talked about his brother. Locke knows that Eko must be going to the drug plane. Locke wanted to go there anyway to see if Sayid could communicate with the Others through the computer in the Pearl Station. Locke invites anyone who wants to, to come along.

They catch up with Eko, and Locke realizes that Eko had seen something at the stream, but Eko won't tell him what it was. Locke says that he once saw a beautiful white light, but Eko says that's not what he saw.

Inside the Pearl, Sayid taps into one of the TVs that shows what looks like another station with a big computer in it. A man with a patch over his eye comes into the frame and switches off the camera.

Eko keeps seeing his brother Yemi, who wants him to confess. At the steam, just before Locke finds him, Eko sees a reflection of the smoke monster, but when he turns, the monster retreats.

Eko pulls a knife on Locke when Locke mentions Yemi's name. Outside the Pearl Station, while the others are inside, Eko follows his brother, but he does not confess. Eko says that he has not sinned. He did the stuff he did because he had to in order to survive.

The smoke monster grabs Eko and beats him against a tree. Eko lays on the ground and Locke finds him. He whispers to Locke, then dies.

Sayid asks what he said and Locke says, "We're next."
