How to Remove a Maytag Washer Cabinet
- 1). Unplug your Maytag washer from the wall outlet. Turn the water supply off to the washer as well.
- 2). Place a bucket near the water connection at the back of the washer. Disconnect the water hoses from the Maytag washer and place the ends inside the bucket.
- 3). Use a screwdriver to remove three screws located on top of the control console. Tip the control console forward to release it from the rear of the Maytag washer.
- 4). Pull the plastic hose off of the pressure relief switch mounted inside the control console. Be careful when pulling the hose off so that you do not damage the hose.
- 5). Use masking tape to label the wiring harnesses that connect from the main washer to the console. Disconnect the wiring harness by pressing in on the plastic locking tabs and pulling them apart. Move the control console away from the work area.
- 6). Insert a putty knife between the top and front panel. Using the putty knife, locate the retaining clip that locks the top panel in place Press the retaining clip in and lift up on the top panel. Disconnect the lid switch wires and lift the top panel by hand and move it out of the work area.
- 7). Use a socket wrench to remove the two hex head screws on the top of the front panel. There is one screw at each corner.
- 8). Pull back on the top of the front panel and lift up on the front panel to release it from the bottom locking tabs. Move the front panel out of the way.
