- 1). Locate the gas nozzle on the cook stove. The nozzle will either be on the side or beneath the stove, such as under a cabinet on which the stove is installed.
- 2). Place the propane tank as close to the stove nozzle as possible.
- 3). Connect the narrow end of the regulator hose to the stove nozzle by turning clockwise and tightening by hand.
- 4). Attach the wide mouth of the regulator coupling on the opposite side to the propane tank by turning clockwise and tightening by hand. There should be no sound coming from the tank or the regulator when connected.
- 5). Turn the valve knob on top of the propane tank counter-clockwise to release gas to the stove control knobs. Be sure the control knobs on the stove are in the "Off" position.
- 6). Listen closely for any hissing sound, which could signal a leak in the system. There should be no sound of hissing gas until the control knobs on the stove are switched on.
- 7). Turn the control knobs to the "Start" position on the stove and ignite either with the electronic push button or by using a lighter held close to the burner. Adjust the control knob to set the flame at the desired height for cooking.
- 8). Disconnect the propane tank from the regulator when transporting the camper. A bump in the road could cause the tank to shift or turn over, possibly ruining the regulator or severing the hose to cause a gas leak. Secure the tank safely inside the camper using ropes or shock cords to lash the tank to a steel frame or other solid object inside the camper.
