    • 1). Open up a console in your distribution of choice.

    • 2). For Red Hat-based distributions, type:

      su yum install gnome-power-manager

      For Debian-based distributions, type:

      sudo apt-get install gnome-power-manager

    • 3). At the command line, type

      man gnome-power-manager

      to get a list of options, or consult the Gnome Power Manager Manual page (see references).
