- 1). Unplug the power cord of the Maytag dryer from the electrical outlet before attempting to disassemble the Maytag drying center. Loosen the two screws that secure the panel onto the lint-filter housing in the front of the drying center with a screwdriver.
- 2). Loosen the four screws that fasten the upper dryer cabinet to the rear of the control panel. Slide the panel up just enough so you can unplug the electrical connectors from the back of the panel.
- 3). Remove the electrical connectors on the back of the control panel and open the panel by swinging it forward and to the left. Loosen the five screws at the top of the bottom panel.
- 4). Detach the bottom panel from the brackets by moving the top panel forward and lifting up the bottom panel. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bottom right side of the bottom panel and move the panel out to the left to complete the disassembly.
