In some cases, the heart disease might be caused by the kidney disease, which is why your veterinarian will probably be treating the kidney disease through diet, while the heart disease might be treated with drugs. It's going to be tempting to give your cat whatever treats you normally would give him, but you need to make sure that you focus on only providing the foods and supplements that your veterinarian prescribes. Be prepared for your cat to possibly turn his nose up at the food that you're trying to get him to eat. That's perfectly normal.
