How to Check if Bread Is Done
- 1). Check the bread for browning on the crust, indicating the loaf is nearing the end of the cooking time.
- 2). Use pot holders to remove the loaf from the baking pan. Thump the base of the bread with your finger. A thoroughly baked loaf will sound hollow, like a drum.
- 3). Insert a food thermometer into the center of the bread. Remove the bread from the oven when the interior temperature is between 190 and 200 degrees F.
