A DS3 refers to a digital signal which is in level 3 of the T carrier.
It is also known as a T3 line.
It is a very high speed connection which has the capability to transmit at a data rate of 45Mb per second.
The equivalent of this line is 672 telephone lines of regular voice grade.
It is fast enough and this high connectivity means it can transmit full motion, large databases and real time video over a very busy network.
This level of a carrier has the capability to carry 28 levels 1 signal within the payload.
