How to Grow Rosa Bianca Eggplants
- 1). Prepare the site for planting by loosening the soil with a garden fork or tiller. Remove all large rocks and grass clumps.
- 2). Mix 5-10-10 fertilizer with the garden soil, at a rate of 3 lbs. to every 100 square feet.
- 3). Plant the Rosa Bianca eggplants at the depth they were growing when purchased and water until the soil is moist 6 inches deep. Leave 2 to 2 1/2 feet between each plant.
- 4). Place 2 to 3 inches of organic mulch under the plants. Don't allow it to rest against the plant's stems.
- 5). Water when the surface of the soil feels dry. Always add enough water to moisten the soil 6 inches deep.
- 6). Feed with calcium nitrate at a rate of 3 oz. for every 10 feet of garden space, when the eggplants are approximately 1 inch in diameter. Work the calcium nitrate into the top of the soil and water well. Repeat the process three weeks later.
- 7). Harvest Rosa Bianca eggplants when the flesh gives slightly to pressure.
