Sink Basket Instructions
- 1). Scoop a handful of plumber's putty into your hands and roll it into a strip. Push the strip of putty into the groove under the sink basket lip. This will create a seal between the basket and the sink surface, preventing leaks.
- 2). Press the sink basket into the drain opening firmly. Putty may leak out from under the lip as you press the basket into place.
- 3). Get under the sink. Slide the rubber gasket and the cardboard gasket over the drain portion of the sink basket.
- 4). Screw on the retaining nut over the gaskets. Tighten the retaining nut by hand. Slide the drain line into the bottom of the sink basket drain and tighten the nut at that joint.
- 5). Tighten the nut joining the two drain lines with an adjustable wrench. Tighten the basket retaining nut with a sink basket wrench.
- 6). Wipe the edges of the sink basket with a damp sponge to remove any excess putty that leaked out during installation. Insert a fitted strainer into the sink basket, if desired.
