Review of "Obama Does Not Matter" Email

103 25
I send out emails as part of my marketing.
It helps to keep my presence known to those that do not use my service.
Often the emails provide home owner tips and bits of business and marketing wisdom.
The day after Barrack Obama won the election I sent out an email titled "Obama does not matter".
The email was about encouraging business owners and sales people to depend upon themselves for their own success.
I received complaints.
Over a year later I doubt I would get complaints for the same email despite the message being the same.
I had email replies asking me how I cannot like this "caring and gentle man" Readers completely misunderstood the email they were way too quick to defend this person who they really knew very little about.
In the email I had send I never once put Obama down or was critical of him in any way.
It was amazing the response.
I replied back to everyone that I would have written the same thing if McCain had won.
The email was a message of being self reliant.
Now a year and a half later and President Obama ratings and approval rating have gone way down.
Obama recently visited Ohio to give a speech on job creation.
On social media sites some news outlets gave information as to Air Force One landing on a micro blog.
The number of negative comments are a great contrast to what would have occurred over a year ago.
People were expressing desires for him to go away and not come back to Ohio, people were expressing having no respect for Obama and they expressed that they did not feel like Obama had respect for the public and they did not wish to respect him back.
It was quite apparent that the warm feelings for Obama that were expressed for Obama around the time of his election have largely vanished.
Obama's lack of action in response to the large oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico has increased the rate in which his approval rating is falling.
After seeing such a change in opinion in attitude towards President Obama I began to wonder about the email I had sent the morning after Obama won the presidential elections and how that email would be received if sent out now.
When I sent it I had some positive responses but the majority of the comments I received were jumping to protect Obama and I never even attacked or criticized him.
I bet the response would be quite different now that people are getting a clearer image of Obama due to now actually seeing him in action or inaction.
The response to my email back then was strong.
When you ever send an email you should be careful so as to not offend all of your clients.
I think that when I explained that it was a message of self reliance and people reread the email and realizing that it did not put down Obama they realized the truth in my message.
Did my business suffer any? No I actually grew while others lost business.
Still commenting on politics in a risky thing so be careful.
