Dana White Reveals Who TJ Dillashaw Will Defend His Title Against Next
During Thursday's UFC 182 Ultimate Media Day, UFC President Dana White was asked who is the next potentially candidate to face UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw after top contenders Dominick Cruz and Raphael Assuncao were injured. Here is what he had to say:
"Probably Renan Barao. Renan just fought and won. They would have fought before if he made weight."
White on if Urijah Faber and Dillashaw are open to fighting each other: "Definitely. They're definitely open to it. When you have a team full of guys that are in the same weight, you're eventually going to have to fight each other, and they're all cool with that."
UFC 182 takes place this Saturday night (January 3rd) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event for this event will be Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier. The co-main event will be Donald Cerrone vs. Myles Jury.
The first fight will start with a prelim fight between Alexis Dufresne vs. Marion Reneau on fight pass at 7 p.m. ET. The UFC will switch over to Fox Sports 1 to kick off the rest of the prelim card with Rodrigo Damm vs. Evan Dunham at 8 p.m. ET, The main card, which will be on PPV starts at 10 p.m. ET with Josh Burkman vs. Hector Lombard.
