Exaggerate the details of the mushroom to add whimsy to the Wonderland scenes.mushroom image by Soja Andrzej from Fotolia.com
Use graph paper to outline a mushroom detailing even the smallest polka dot. The top circumference measures two thirds larger than the stem. Mark the ratio to reference when increasing or decreasing the prop from scale. On a flat cardboard box, measure points of reference and in pencil draw the outline. Use a utility knife to cut the outline. Create a basic wood tripod to add stability. Attach the cut-out image to the tripod using spray adhesive and a few small nails. Paint the image with bright primary colors, detailing with glowing colors such as fuchsia and lime. - 2). Create a whimsical Cheshire Cat using foam. Cut out a caricature image of the cat. The smile is shaped similar to a kidney bean with a crescent-moon shaped opening for teeth. Use poster board to exaggerate large teeth. Create a purple head with pink cheeks to outline the smile. Add ears and large yellow eyes with full black pupils. Use paint if the surface is cut to resemble fur or use a furry material in bright pink and purple. Attached the head separately from the body using a spring for a fun accent.

Use a large piece of foam and cut into a circular shape for an oversized pocket watch. Use spray adhesive to attach a white vinyl circle to the front of the watch. Use a permanent marker to draw numbers. Cut hands from black poster board. Attach the hands with a large tack that allows the hands to turn. Cover the trim and back of the watch with a bright gold fabric to mimic gold plating. Add a gold ring to the top of the watch and attach a string of circular gold garland as the chain. - 4
Take time with the detail to get the desired whimsical effect.colorful paint tubes image by FrankU from Fotolia.com
Visit a thrift shop for an old table and chairs set to use as a basis for a tea party scene. Mismatched chairs are preferred. Also purchase old teapots, saucers and cups. Paint all tea service items with bright colors. Take multiple teapots and glue them atop each other. If the teapots seem unstable, drill a small hole in the base of each and stack together using a rod for stability. Add unique foods to the table using foam cut into colorful cake slices. Visit a cake shop for easily dyed fondant for an edible option.
