Franchisee Associations
- The American Franchisee Association, or AFA, is an advocacy group that promotes fairness and harmony in the business relationship between franchisees and franchisors. The AFA actively lobbies state and federal lawmakers to enhance or add regulations that govern the franchisor-franchisee relationship, with an eye to protecting the franchisee. Individual franchisees as well as franchisee associations may join the AFA.
- The American Association of Franchisees and Dealers, or AAFD, provides market support services, legislative and legal advocacy and professional development opportunities for its members. The organization also offers an accreditation service for franchisees who wish to use fair franchise dealing practices as a selling point for their franchises. Their mission statement is "Total Quality Franchising." Franchisees and franchisors can join the AAFD. Prospective franchise investors may also join as associate members and get guidance on making and managing a franchise investment.
- The Coalition of Franchisee Associations, or CFA, pools the leadership of franchisee associations around the nation to strengthen the overall franchise community. The CFA is primarily focused on government advocacy on behalf of its members. The organization actively supports or opposes a select list of relevant issues and posts their positions on their website.
- The International Franchise Association, or IFA, is a franchisee and franchisor resource group. Members can use the IFA website to locate a supplier, read franchising articles and find information on upcoming events. The IFA also provides country data for franchisees looking to establish a franchise outside the United States.
