How to Install Carbide Button Reloading Dies
- 1). Remove any loading dies from the loading press. Place the case holder in the loading press ram but do not raise the press ram.
- 2). Place two strips of masking tape over the case holder, one on top of the other, and flatten the applied tape strips so that no wrinkles or uneven edges are present. Raise the press ram to it highest position.
- 3). Screw in the resizing die, slowly allowing the bottom of the die to slightly touch the masking tape strip that was applied to the case holder. Lower the press ram and gently raise it again, making sure that the masking tape strip slightly touches the carbide die base.
- 4). Lock the die in place at this position by tightening the locking ring. Repeat this process for the expanding die (for a three die set) and bullet seating die.
- 5). Remove the masking tape after all of the dies have been adjusted. Place a fired case in the case holder and run it through each die to ensure that it is correctly resized, deprimed and that the mouth is expanded. Your carbide dies are properly installed and ready for safe reloading.
