Women lament that "a good man is hard to find". Men feel the same way about women. Yet most of the time good relationships end in some kind of breakup despite the fact that usually at least one party wants to stay together.

Despite the population boom more and more people are trying to get back with their exes. Perhaps the need to be with someone familiar is driving this trend even though both partners arguably have more choices now than ever. Usually, at least one of the split up partners wants to stay together.

If you think about it getting back with your ex is not that strange, in fact it is actually familiar. Your ex is a known quality and that can be a good thing.

Getting back together requires a lot of good planning. If you just jump into it without thinking you will probably dig a hole that's hard to get out of. So don't just assume that a reconciliation will happen easily.

When your ex doesn't want to talk you should heed their wishes and use the time to take care of yourself. Don't fret about what they are doing and thinking. Make yourself attractive by keeping an upbeat disposition.

It's not that hard to get your ex to meet with you again if they are being difficult about it. You just need to apply some good old fashioned persuasion. Say something like "Hi, I am so grateful for what you have done for me. I'd like to say thanks in person." Of course they will want to meet and you need to be able to tell them what you are grateful for.

One of the first things you need to do when you get the opportunity is to offer a sincere apology. Don not waste the chance. The apology can open the door to getting your ex back but you will never get back with your ex if you don't apologize.
