Taca Airline Baggage Restrictions
- All passengers flying with Taca are allowed one carry-on and two checked bags, whether they are flying intercontinentally or within South America, and whether their tickets are economy or business class. However, weight and size limits of checked luggage vary according to destination and ticket class. It is also important to remember that any sort of corrosive, explosive, or flammable articles are prohibited.
- Passengers traveling intercontinentally in economy class are allowed two pieces of checked luggage, each weighing up to 50 pounds and measuring up to 62 linear inches. For travel within South America and from Brazil to North America, the weight limit increases to 70 pounds. For business class passengers, the size limit remains the same, but weight limit is 70 pounds regardless of destination.
- Taca allows all passengers one carry-one bag, not to exceed 22 pounds and 45 linear inches. As on other airlines, passengers must ensure that any liquids, gels, or aerosols being carried on are limited to 3.4-ounce containers and will fit into a one quart-sized transparent zip-lock bag.
- Additional baggage and/or items that exceed the weight/size restrictions are subject to fees ranging from $55 to $225. Given this, it is in your interest to ensure that your bags conform to the restrictions set out by Taca Airlines. Through smart packing and a little advance planning, it is not difficult to avoid these extra costs and get your trip off to a positive start.
