How to Troubleshoot a Simplicity Broadmoor
- 1). Press the brake pedal all the way to the floor and try to start the mower again, if you are unable to start it the first time. If you continue to have problems, check that the PTO switch is in the "Off" position and the cruise control knob is also in the "Off" position, as both of these features can stop you from starting the mower.
- 2). Check the fuel gauge and add fuel to the fuel tank if you continue to have issues starting the mower. Another source of the problem could be the battery. Open the hood and check that the battery terminals are properly connected. If they are, you may need to replace the battery to get the mower to work.
- 3). Place the "Choke" lever into the "Open" position if the mower starts, but sputters or runs poorly. If this does not fix the issue, check the oil level of the mower and add the correct type of oil if necessary. Clean and replace the air filter of the mower if the problems continue; otherwise, you need to contact an authorized repair person.
- 4). Turn the mower off and clean out any clumps of grass and dirt underneath the mower if it doesn't appear to be cutting grass or cuts unevenly. If it is clean, you may be moving too slow or fast for the mower to cut the grass. Increase or decrease the throttle accordingly until you get the length of cut you are looking for.
