Guide Review - "Reign of Fire" DVD Review
"Reign of Fire" begins with the awakening of a dragon who has been slumbering inside the earth for centuries. Once awake, the dragon breeds and multiples, and the beasts unleash their fury on humans. Life on earth changes as humans cower and hide from the flying terrors. Few are brave enough to fight the killers, and it's up to Matthew McConaughey as militia leader, Van Zan, and Christian Bale as fire chief and champion of the people, Quinn, to save the world.
"Reign of Fire" is fun and fast-paced, even if the story is a bit convoluted. The effects look terrific and the actors give the CGI effects a run for their money. If you're looking for fun escapist entertainment, then this is a good film to pass a few hours with.
