- 1). Contact your local junkyards and ask if they have a chassis that would fit on your 1989 Chevy truck. Chevy produced several types of trucks in 1989 in sizes such as the S10 and the Silverado CK 1500, so you will need to specify the model you own. Use Yardquest's search tool if you do not know your local junkyard (See Resources below).
- 2). Search various online vendors or junkyard consortium sites such as Used Part Central, Classic Trucks or Car Parts Wholesale.
- 3). Scan the want ads of your local newspaper. Local dealers and private sellers often will list cars and trucks in the classified section, and they might be willing to sell parts from the truck.
- 4). Submit a query to an online classified service such as Craigslist or Freecycle requesting a chassis for your specific type of truck.
