- 1). Remove each screw extractor bit from its case and manually fit the tip of the bit into the head of the damaged screw. Place the correct-fitting extractor bit in a screw gun's chuck, and tighten the chuck to the bit either manually or with a chuck key.
- 2). Switch the screw gun to its counterclockwise rotation setting. Rest the tip of the extractor bit in the head of the screw and push the screw gun against the screw.
- 3). Pull the gun's trigger slightly to move the bit so that it grips the broken screw head. Pull the screw gun's trigger a little more to turn the bit counterclockwise -- the extractor bit will grip the screw and force it out of the material surface.
