Downtown Revitalization Plan For Palm Springs Considered
Palm Springs downtown district has seen better days, currently there are storeowners who cannot make rent and for lease signs where some small businesses have failed.
In discussing this will several local business folks it appears to me that the only true obstacle is the infighting preventing the revitalization from taking place.
Now, I've been involved with several downtown revitalization programs, and interestingly enough have been to every city in the nation over 10K in population.
I've seen the tragedy of boarded up downtowns, it makes you want to cry knowing each one represented someone's business and life savings, dreams.
I am willing to sit down with some folks and come up with a real plan.
Of course, watching the infighting there, I can say;
Palm Springs Downtown needs some re-branding, and they have quite a number of talented, creative sorts there that could get that place humming again.
Why not several of us pick an evening set up weekly meeting somewhere neutral, the group will grow and we can keep the Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, City Leaders, Small Business owners in the loop, invite them too.
The economic decay in the Palm Springs downtown district is a problem that is solvable, it's just going to take the right team.
