Stop Spoiling Your Kids Too Much

103 7
While it is very common to spoil young children because they are just so adorable, some studies have shown that too much pampering causes some negative characteristics in your kids.
The problems become more apparent as they grow older.
They tend to be overly dependent and have low self-esteem.
When children grow up in an environment where people are always at their beck and call, they would not be able to learn how to take care of themselves and become overly dependent to their parents or guardian.
This is not a tolerable attitude since even if they get old, they would be letting others do things for them and would end up not knowing what to do when they are left alone.
For instance, there is a kid in the second grade who refuses to eat lunch without the assistance of older people.
He has been spoiled too much at home since he was a little baby.
Kids who have been accustomed to too much pampering can be identified by their childish attitude even when they get older.
When kids are spoiled too much, they become too dependent to the people around them and they tend to have a low self-esteem.
This is actually the result of over dependence.
They don't believe in their own capacities anymore, restraining their ability to decide on things.
If you look at the cause, you would see that this is the result of having someone doing everything for them.
Kids who have low self-esteem cannot simply make a decisive answer even in answering their homework.
You can clearly see that too much pampering can affect the kids' characters and behaviors not only for the short term but also for the long term as they grow older.
This means that even if they reach adulthood, they would still be the indecisive children they used to be.
So avoid spoiling your kids too much.
