Dilled Green Beans Recipe
Marinated Green Beans with Dill - Green Bean Salad Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups white vinegar
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup pickling salt
- 2 1/2 pounds of fresh string beans, washed and trimmed
- 4 stalks fresh(or frozen) dill
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled
- 4 dried whole red chile peppers
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp dill seed
- Yield: 4 to 5 pints
Preparation
- Prepare your canning jars and lids according to manufacturer's instructions. Keep lids and jars hot.
- Combine the vinegar, water and salt. Bring the liquid to a b oil and boil for 1 minute, to dissolve salt. Reduce the heat to low and keep hot.
- Pack beans into prepared jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Add a sprig of dill, clove of garlic, chili pepper and 1/4 tsp each of cayenne and dill seed.
- Pour hot vinegar mixture over beans, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Cover and process in a hot water bath for 10 minutes
