Get Serious About Your Golf Practice And Become A Winner

103 9
How many times have you walked off the eighteenth green and were disappointed with the high score you made during the game, despite having been to the golf practice range a day or two before you were scheduled to play.
After all the practice balls you hit, you achieved very little improvement in your driving and putting.
What is the problem, what causes this to happen? Read on and find out.
Okay, let us analyze what you do exactly when you are on the driving range.
You will probably buy a bucket of balls possibly totaling a hundred.
This is mistake number one.
If you have too many balls to hit, the attention and focus you need to keep when hitting a hundred balls is far beyond what the human mind can deal with.
This is because our concentration levels of attention are limited.
In other words our mind is too easily distracted by other influences around us.
Also hitting so many balls leads to tiredness, both mentally and physically.
This is our danger signal, because when tiredness begins to set in, we then fall back to our old bad slovenly habits as we just want to finish our bucket of balls.
The solution to keep interested and focused is to have a plan for practicing.
The first step should be to concentrate on the weak parts of your game.
If it is your driving from the tee box or your fairway shots, then this is where the focus must lie when practicing.
The second part is not being too shy or nervous to ask a trusted low handicap golfer friend to observe your swing.
The third plan should be for you to become specific about your approach when addressing the ball.
In other words is your posture right, are you comfortable in your stance.
This all needs checking and correcting if necessary.
The fourth plan should be for you to put a time limit on how long you want to practice.
But remember, too long spent hitting balls will make you stagnate and develop more bad habits.
The fifth step is to use half the amount of practice balls you have in your bucket, fifty is about right for you to keep your concentration.
Now for the hard part.
You must practice focusing your thoughts on the task at hand for every practice swing.
It is vital for you to check before you hit any ball that your stance and club grip is perfect.
If either of these are wrong then you are in serious trouble right from the word go.
Remember there is no shame in asking a friend to observe and correct you where necessary.
Now get out there on the practice range and focus with a winners determination.
