The Bigger Your Cockatiel Bird Cage the Happier Your Cockatiel

We all want happy cockatiels and the best way to do this is to house them in the biggest cockatiel bird cage that you can afford.
But before you can determine exactly what size cockatiel bird cage your cockatiels need it is exactly that, that you must find out - their needs! Cockatiels are a marvelous bird and make wonderful pets but the decision you make when choosing your cockatiel bird cage for them to live in will go a long way to determine how happy they will be in living with you.
For a start, cockatiels are very active birds and despite them being very small they still need a lot of room to move around in.
Don't even consider looking at a small cage, it would be totally unfair and cruel to your birds.
Definitely look only at the larger bird cages for your important pets.
They will spend a lot of time walking around the bottom of their cage searching for tid bits to eat.
This means that the floor of your cockatiel bird cage must be at least 18 X 18 inches.
If you can, go even bigger, this will make your cockatiels that much happier.
You must also consider the ease of cleaning your cockatiel bird cage when making your purchase.
You must get a cage that has a pull out tray on the bottom beneath a grated floor.
This will allow the bird droppings and any excess food to fall through onto the pull out tray therefore improving the health environment of your birds.
Plastic, wood, or even steel, it doesn't matter all that much what your cockatiel bird cage is made out of.
There are many differing types on the market; some are quite beautifully made of wrought iron.
What you must keep in mind though is that they shouldn't be able to stick their heads through the bars.
