How to Make an Invasion Game Type
- 1). Open the level editor to create your own level. Select the game type as "Invasion," not "Basic Editing." Begin designing your custom game by selecting a basic map, such as Forge.
- 2). Establish spawn points by hitting "Object Options" (the "X" button). Select spawn points and make sure that these spawn points have a neutral affiliation, rather than designating them for one of the teams.
- 3). Select the spawn zone (not the spawn point) by aiming at the hourglass icon over the spawn point and selecting "Object Options." Designate these spawn zones based on which team you wish to spawn in the spawn zone. Start with the blue team.
- 4). Change the spawn zone specifications for the blue team so that the "Spawn Sequence" is set to "1." Change the "Place at Start" value to "True" and the "Game Specific" value to "False." The "Symmetry" value must be "Both" and the "Game Type Label" must be "INV_RES_ZONE."
- 5). Alter the same specifications for the basic red team spawn zone. These specifications will configure the spawn zones such that each team only spawns in these zones as long as the first objective is still being defended. Once that objective is taken, each team will spawn at new spawn zones.
- 6). Configure the second spawn zone for each team in an identical fashion to the first spawn zone, with a few exceptions. Instead of "Spawn Sequence" having a value of "1," change it to a value of "2." Also, "Game Specific" must become "True" rather than "False."
- 7). Configure the third spawn zone identically to the second spawn zone, except that you must change "Spawn Sequence" from "2" to "3."
- 8). Create objective zones by creating a cylinder or box with the tools in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. These objectives must correspond in their sequence with the sequences for the spawn zones. The first objective will have a "Sequence" of "1," the second will have a value of "2" and the last will have a value of "3."
- 9). Configure the additional details of each objective such that "Place at Start" is "True," "Game Specific" is "False," "Symmetry" has a value of "Both" and "Game Type Label" has a value of "INV_OBJECTIVE." The territories of these objectives must be set to that of the defending team.
- 10
Establish the last objective with the "Game Type Label" set as "INV_OBJ_FLAG." This setting will cause the flag to spawn at this location. - 11
Create a final objective point to act as the objective location for the attacking team to bring the flag. This final objective has the same configuration as the third objective point, except that the "Game Type Label" is "INV_Objective."
