Starting your own roofing business is not an easy task, because there are certain issues that need to be established.
Like estimation, you will have to drive to the house that you are going to be putting the new roof on.
Therefore, you are going to need a reliable truck to get around, as well as a trailer to haul all or your equipment.
You will need a ladder that is sturdy enough to hold an average of 100 to 200 pounds, for you will be climbing up this ladder with bundles of shingles.
Many roofers have fallen off roofs because their ladder is not sturdy enough to handle this kind of weight.
You will also need a claw hammer, cordless drill, utility knife with hook blades for cutting shingles.
You will also need a pry bar, nail gun and compressor depending on whether or not you are going to have anyone else work with you.
However, you may also buy a tape measure that measure over 200 feet or more for estimating the roof.
In order for a person to get an estimate on the cost of a new roof, depends on what type of material you will be using.
You will need to know how much square foot of material you will need to cover the roof with, and then you will need to find out how much square foot of roof the bundle of shingles will cover.
After you have these two figures, you need to multiply the two figures in order to get a good estimate of how much the new roof is going to cost.
In addition, after you have the estimate and figured out how much material is, needed for the job, and received the money for the material and for the labor.
You may start calling trusted friends, or family members that may need a job, and tell them you are starting a roofing business and need help with your first job.
However, remember that you are now the boss, and as hard as it may be if someone on the crew does not know what he or she is doing, or if anyone on the crew decides the job can be slapped together, after you spent the time showing him or her how to do the job.
Then you maybe forced to fire that person.
Therefore, your customers need to know that you stand behind your work one hundred percent.
However, if something does go wrong you will replace anything free of charge.
