What Fuel Is Recommended for the Cadillac CTS?
- Cadillac is the oldest of GM's brands, founded in 1902. Throughout the years the automaker has produced mostly large, luxurious vehicles with the CTS representing the smallest Cadillac currently available.
- The Cadillac CTS is the fourth in a series of smaller Cadillacs produced, beginning with the Seville in the 1970s, the Cimarron in the 1980s and the Catera in the 1990s.
- According to Business Week, "...the CTS uses [the more] inexpensive regular gasoline, while its rivals all require premium fuel."
- Cadillac builds a special CTS-V model equipped with a supercharger. That 6.2L, 556-horsepower V8 is paired with either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. According to GM, the Cadillac CTS-V requires premium fuel.
- If you're not sure which CTS model you own, check your owner's manual for fuel information. If the manual says a certain fuel is required, be sure to follow what's suggested in order to preserve your warranty.
