Tour of the Indoor Common Areas of the Regal Princess
Regal Princess Piazza and Other Indoor Common Areas
The 3,560-passenger Regal Princess was launched in 2013, and the ship is a great addition to the Princess fleet. She is very similar to her sister ship the Royal Princess that I sailed roundtrip from Copenhagen to ports in northern Europe and the Baltic Sea in the summer of 2014.
The interiors of the Regal Princess are mostly elegant and contemporary, pleasing to the eye and contributing to a memorable cruise vacation.
As shown in the photo above, the Piazza is a spectacular atrium spanning three decks and filled with shops, bars, and restaurants. This hub links many of the other common areas on the ship.
Let's take a tour of some of the other interior common areas on the Regal Princess. Be sure to also take a look at this article on the interiors of the Royal Princess to see the similarities and differences.

Lotus Spa on the Regal Princess
The decor of the Lotus Spa on deck 5 forward of the Regal Princess is sophisticated, contemporary, and conducive to relaxation. It has all the indulgences spa lovers would expect from a first-class retreat like massages, facials, ionithermie, acupuncture, and teeth whitening. Many of the experiences are designed for couples, making for some romantic, restful time with your significant other.
The Lotus Spa even has a "chocolate indulgence" body treatment where the therapists first exfoliate your body and then cover it with a rich chocolate mask to allow the skin to take advantage of chocolate's anti-oxidants.
After the mask is removed, you get a full body massage with warmed chocolate oil. Sounds amazing, doesn't it?
In addition to all the spa treatments, the Lotus Spa also features Private Couples Cabanas in the Sanctuary that offer a perfect mix of indoor privacy and outdoor views. The enclosed cabanas have a comfortable resting area, television, and plush chairs with views over the front of the Regal Princess. Anyone renting a cabana can also schedule a massage inside.
The Enclave inside the Lotus Spa is a thermal suite with a Hammam, Caldarium, Laconium, and hydro-therapy pool.

Regal Princess Fitness Center
The Regal Princess Fitness Center is on deck 17 and has all the latest equipment along with great views of the sea. The equipment includes treadmills, recumbent bicycles, ellipticals, strength equipment, and spinning cycles. Most of the equipment is complimentary, but there is a charge for the spinning classes.
Guests can exercise on their own, work with one of the personal trainers, or take a class in yoga or Pilates in the aerobics center.
Those looking for a real challenge can sign up for boot camp or TRX suspension training.Â

This spectacular curving staircase on the Regal Princess connects the casino on deck 6 with the shops on deck 7. I thought it made me feel very "regal" to walk up or down these marble steps.

The Youth and Teen Clubs on the Regal Princess are located near the Fitness Center on deck 17. The fun-inspiring areas are filled with games, computers, and comfortable seating to lounge with new friends.
Princess Cruises has partnered with Discovery Communications, parent company of pay-TV programming like the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet, to bring a new family program of onboard and ashore activities to its ships called Discovery at Sea.
This program, which starts in early 2015, includes themed-tours, science activities, hands-on programs, and games based on Discovery's programming. Kids of all ages should be attracted to activities based on "Shark Week" and the Science Channel "How It's Made". Plus, learning about the wildlife on each itinerary or doing some star watching from the top deck can be both fun and educational.

Although many of the great seating areas on the Regal Princess are in the lounges, the area along the gallery connecting the atrium to the Vista Lounge on deck 7 is filled with several small sitting areas like this one.

The Regal Princess Library is small, but it's quiet and a nice place to read a book or relax. It's found across from the Wheelhouse Bar on deck 7.

Princess Live! is the Regal Princess television studio, with programming like talk shows, demonstrations, and entertainment continuing throughout the day and into the evening. The deck 7 theater has seating for 280 and a small cafe just outside.Â

Like the photo of the Piazza on page 1 of this article, this one shows how some of the venues on decks 6 and 7 on the Regal Princess seem to hover over the deck 5 Piazza. That's Bellini's Bar in the center of the picture.
